My girls have had a little visitor to the coop each day during this cold snap in the weather, the birdie flies in when their door automatically opens and is gone when I close it at night. Removing pupae from the mealworms prevents them from being cannibalized 😳 Pupae are immobile and defenseless during their transformation and are easy targets for their wriggly counterparts seeking moisture or nutrients 😳😳 Also why they stay elevated until they are beetles - I’m learning so much with this mini farm! Not so mini anymore since learning each beetle lays 300-500 eggs and I have 400 and counting 🤔😮‍💨#mealworms #mealwormfarm #foodformychickens #chickens #backyardchickens
